Yes, you can continue using your kitchen during a cabinet refacing project. The amount of access you have during the weekday depends on the scope of your project and the specific improvements being completed. Because your new cabinet doors, drawer fronts, and refacing materials are custom-built off-site before installation begins, the most disruptive part of the process is typically much shorter than a full kitchen remodel.

However, there will be times when your kitchen is temporarily unavailable. While you may be able to access your refrigerator or certain areas of your kitchen, preparing meals or cooking will obviously not be possible while work is actively being performed. At the end of each workday, our installers will complete a broom cleanup and move tools out of the way, so you can comfortably use your kitchen for your evening meal.

To help protect your home, please note that our installers use protective sheeting around the work area to contain dust and keep the rest of your home as clean as possible.

• Provide written pricing for old countertop removal, installation of a new plywood ‘subtop’ (required to support natural stone and quartz countertops), and a base price for your selected stone category.

Because every slab varies in size, pattern, and cost—and fabrication costs differ depending on the material—your final countertop price is determined after you select your exact slab at the stone yard. Once you’ve made your selection, we’ll provide your final countertop pricing.

Your Design Consultant will explain the entire process and answer any questions during your appointment.

Yes! You’ll have a working kitchen sink throughout nearly the entire cabinet refacing and countertop installation process. At the beginning of your project, we’ll remove your existing countertops and install a new plywood “subtop” to provide a sturdy temporary surface for your kitchen. You can use this temporary surface while your cabinets are being refaced, until your new stone countertops are installed.

We’ll also install and connect your new kitchen sink near the beginning of the project, so you’ll have a fully functional sink during most of the cabinet refacing work. When your new quartz, quartzite, or granite countertops are installed, the plumbing will need to be temporarily disconnected. Your plumbing will be reconnected the following morning after the countertop installation is complete.

The result? Most Pacific Kitchens customers have their kitchen sink out of service for only one night during the entire cabinet refacing project.

Your new countertops will be carefully measured, templated, and fabricated to achieve the best possible appearance while minimizing the number of seams. During your cabinet refacing project, our professional countertop fabricator will visit your home to take precise measurements and create a custom template for your new countertops.

At this appointment, you will need to confirm the exact locations and specifications for all countertop cutouts, including:
